I think I might try to turn this into a series. We'll see! So excited for Sunday!

Busy Busy

I have been doing all sorts of fun drawings lately! This one is a revised version of a poster I did way back when of one of my favorite bands Bat For Lashes.

These are for a group project I'm working on.

Another girl for my soap project. Bad Bad Betty.

And finally some free time for some Game of Thrones art. I was inspired to do this from my favorite Sansa scene in A Storm Of Swords.

Projects, projects, projects!

Here's a poster from a larger campaign I did for a Save Texas Schools assignment. I was focusing on oversized classrooms effecting education.

Here's some character designs from a project that didn't end up working out. I was going for a Kate Beaton inspired look here.

Now my latest project is for soap packaging. I'm super excited about it so far. Can't wait to see the end result but here's what I have so far. This is the Mistress of Citrus. I started out with the first one but wasn't especially happy with it. Then I was introduced to Kevin Dart's art and felt inspired to do the second one. Which I love! I feel like you'll be seeing more illustrations in this style soon.

Brave

I have been so busy with so many different projects lately! I feel like I have hardly any free time these days. Today I made some free time for myself to draw something fun. So I drew Merida from Brave! I'm super excited about it. Can't wait to see it! She seems like she'll be one of my new favorite Disney characters.

Katniss

I started reading The Hunger Games finally. It was such a quick read too I have no excuse for not reading it sooner. I can't wait to start reading Catching Fire now. As soon as I finished the book I just had to do some Katniss art. I love her character.

Looking Back

I did this illustration of Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy a few years ago. It's a pose from one of my favorite pin-up artists Gil Elvgren and his painting "Thinking of You". It was a big hit and still is. The more I look back on some of my older art I really can appreciate just how far I've come (and can still go!) in just a few short years.

I doodled this one today in my free time. It's nothing spetacular but I love going back and re-doing old work and seeing what I can do with it now.

I did something similar with Snow White not too long ago too. Can't wait to go back in a few years and do more!

Love

Here's a watercolor painting I just finished up for a couple I know. They're getting married next weekend so I painted this for them. Hope they like it!

Figure drawing

Since this is a blog I figure I should maybe post about some of my daily artistic endeavors. I'm in a figure drawing class this semester and although figure drawing in itself is great the class is not for some reason. It's like time slows down as soon as I walk in the door and I feel like I'm there ALL DAY. It's probably because I walk in already in a bad mood from my ceramics class (which I hate). Does anyone else feel like this?

Today we had to use all the colors of the chalk pastel rainbow. I spent about 40 minutes on this.
